Summary

The merchant convoy arrives at Tang Ji Inn, owned by the Tang family, where they are greeted by the enthusiastic attendant. Yan Qing, a friend of Tang Huai, meets Tang Zheng De, Tang Huai's uncle, and discusses their military situation. Yan Qing reveals he is part of the Flying Cavalry, which has been successful against the Jin troops. Tang Zheng De provides information about the heavily guarded Li Yang granary and mentions the difficulty of obtaining weapons due to city regulations. Yan Qing offers gold as a reward for help in acquiring weapons, which Tang Zheng De eagerly accepts. Later, Yan Qing meets Master Qiu, the owner of a weapon shop, and arranges to purchase armor and weapons, agreeing to pay half upfront. At midnight, Yan Qing leads a group of soldiers clad in armor towards the city wall, where they encounter a few Han soldiers on patrol. He cleverly persuades them to let two soldiers join his group, revealing that he recognizes one, Liu San, from earlier. After some tension, Liu San pleads for his life, and Yan Qing offers them a chance to redeem themselves by assisting in their mission towards the Li Yang Warehouse City.
