Chapter 742: Homesickness and Hesitation (Part 2). [801]
Summary
In the depths of the night, a girl named Yin Ping, tied to a horse, recognizes a ghost town near Dengzhou where she had accompanied the Beiwei army. As she listens to the sounds of a skirmish, a man approaches, discarding severed heads of bandits. The village, recently abandoned, is a precursor to the chaos engulfing the Wu Dynasty, where the Beiwei army, Da Qi forces, and Jin troops clash amidst a refugee crisis. The Beiwei army attempts to rescue fleeing civilians but faces challenges from the pseudo-Qi forces and internal dissent. Yin Ping, aware of her precarious situation, feels despair as she realizes her father cannot rescue her and her brother. They are captured by a group led by a formidable Jin woman and the scar-faced giant, Lu Tuo, a notorious figure linked to the Qi family of Hebei, who have historically supported peace and business dealings with the Liao Kingdom and later the Jin.Full content
