Summary

In this chapter, Mine Shiori is determined to work at Kodansha in order to get close to her crush, Sawayama Haruno. Lacking the courage to express her feelings, she convinces herself that focusing on the goal of working alongside him will help her build her confidence. While conversing with her friend and mentor Ezaki Naoha, Shiori hesitantly shares her aspirations, hinting at her desire to collaborate with Haruno. Meanwhile, Sawayama Haruno receives an invitation from a Kodansha editor for a meeting. Excited and motivated, he skips class to ensure he arrives on time at the café near Kodansha's headquarters. As he approaches the café, he admires the surrounding Otowa Town and its promotional displays for Kodansha's popular anime and manga. Inside the café, Haruno meets the editor, Sen Chuan Li Sui. He is surprised by her looks and professionalism, and they discuss his work, particularly his novel "Norwegian Wood." Sen is impressed by his youth and talent but also expresses concern about the literary market. After a detailed conversation about industry trends and challenges, Haruno realizes that Sen hints at the difficulties of publishing in physical format, which leaves him feeling slightly resigned about the prospects of his work.
