Summary

Zhang Xuan proposed promoting Deputy Minister Li Chun, but the others opposed this due to Li's lack of qualifications and noble background, suggesting he could be appointed to a different position instead. Wei Yun Qi also advised against the promotion, leading Zhang Xuan to reconsider. Eventually, Su Wei proposed Chen Leng for Minister of Rites and Lu Chu for Minister of Works, which Pei Ju supported, highlighting the need for representation from the Hebei gentry.
