Chapter 735: The Secret Letter in Fo Yin's Hand [735]

Summary

Zhao Shu, the crown prince, feels his efforts to become a legendary emperor are meaningless as he grapples with the shame of being forced into a marriage for financial reasons. He confides in his friend Gou Ya Er, who points out that many great rulers faced hardships. Despite the pressure to marry his cousin for a dowry to cover the palace's deficit, Zhao Shu firmly rejects the idea. They discuss the palace's financial struggles, linked to military losses and rising costs. Zhao Shu realizes that to avoid the marriage, they must find a way to fill the deficit. They brainstorm ideas, considering selling land but face historical and ethical dilemmas. Eventually, they decide to establish a grain trading company and breed valuable racing horses in the northwest, enlisting Fo Yin's help for the auction. Fo Yin gives them protective amulets as they embark on their plan.
