Summary

Usui Sadamitsu and his deputy discuss whether to report to His Highness Yuan Lai Guang or go directly to the Left Minister's residence after witnessing chaos following the deaths of two Heavenly Kings. They decide to see His Highness first. As they rush through Heian-kyo, they encounter an ambush on a bridge, where Usui is severely injured by Yamada Shinichi. A massacre ensues, led by Pei Zi Yun, who reflects on the nature of women and demons, drawing parallels to historical figures and lamenting their emotional struggles. An Bei Qing Ming, witnessing the aftermath, engages Pei Zi Yun in a philosophical discussion about the suffering of women in their society.
