Summary

Wu Yu has died, and Song Xiang, feeling despair, contemplates suicide but ultimately decides against it. Wu Yu's family suffers, with internal strife over funeral arrangements. Wang Ning An sees potential in these criminals, believing they can be useful in governance despite their past misdeeds, arguing that the Western Regions’ system favors wealth over noble bloodlines. As the caravan travels, the princess Yang Xi embraces the adventure, while the older officials struggle with the hardships of their journey. Wen Yan Bo, despite the discomfort, finds joy in the local cuisine and eventually treats his companions to a roasted lamb after realizing their plight. Upon reaching Chang Le Town, he is surprised by the vibrant trade scene and mistakenly buys a large quantity of white jade, showcasing the unexpected opportunities in the region.
