Summary

Emerging from the prosperous Wu Dynasty, four years have passed, with Jiangnan engulfed in chaos as the Jurchens relentlessly search for victims. Wealthy families, including the Cheng Guo Gong Zhu’s estate and the Puyang Family, are fleeing Jiangning, which is covered in snow and memories of better times. The once-thriving Su Family mansion now lies in decay, and the city streets are haunted by the past. The Jurchens approach, and despite the Wu Lie Camp's defenses, hope for resistance wanes. The elderly Cheng Guo Gong Zhu Zhou Xuan falls ill after leaving the city, prompting a weary Prince Jun Wu to return, where he confronts the harsh reality of their situation. The old man, Kang Xian, urges Jun Wu to escape for the future of their people, acknowledging the inevitable downfall. As night falls, Zhou Xuan's condition worsens, leaving Jun Wu in sorrow and uncertainty.
