Summary

Chen Ping An, in a daze, discovers a black stone in his courtyard, realizing it's the legendary Itto, a sword sharpening stone. Reflecting on past conversations about spirits and immortals, he ponders its significance. As he prepares to take it to the blacksmith, he encounters a lively girl collecting branches from an uprooted Huai tree. They discuss her collecting leaves for him, and he offers her a key to his yard, which she declines. Chen Ping An then heads towards the blacksmith shop, recalling a dream and feeling nervous as he crosses an old stone bridge, ultimately finding comfort in his surroundings.
