Summary

In a tense court meeting, Li Yan Qing confronts Wang Fu over the government's failure to aid suffering refugees. Li Yan Qing's passionate accusations unsettle the Emperor, Zhao Ji, who demands an explanation from Wang Fu. Wang Fu stammers that he needed time to coordinate relief efforts, but Li Yan Qing reveals that Wang Fu had prohibited local officials from providing aid, using a forged silver token to mislead them. Zhao Ji, furious at Wang Fu's deception, suspends him for two months and orders immediate relief plans. Cai Jing supports Li Yan Qing's claims, and Zhao Huan sees an opportunity to advance his policies with Wang Fu sidelined. After the court session, Li Yan Qing and Gao Qiu discuss political maneuvering, including the downfall of Liang Shi Cheng, who is now out of favor. Gao Qiu gifts his sword to Li Yan Qing, asking him to deliver it to the Crown Prince.
