Summary

After a failed attack on Liu City, the Goguryeo army, led by Yuan Gai Su Wen, faced significant challenges due to the destruction of their siege ladders and the strong defenses of the city. Meanwhile, a small Sui army scout team, led by Liu Shun Er, discovered an abandoned road being used by a large Goguryeo supply convoy carrying grain and siege ladders. Sui General Chen Jing, waiting to intercept the convoy, received word of its location and quickly mobilized his troops. The Goguryeo convoy, commanded by Yang Wan Chun, was ambushed by the Sui cavalry, leading to a chaotic retreat of Goguryeo soldiers, who abandoned their supplies as the Sui army successfully seized the grain, resolving their supply issues.
