Chapter 70: Dueling Questions (Part 2). [71]
Summary
Li Su's house design was his main focus, not the national strategy. He wanted to add a large garden, a pond, and a pavilion, as well as ten maids who would line up to welcome him. He even recited a poem to prove the value of his design, which included a swimming pool, a bathroom with a shower and bathtub, and a place for relaxation. However, Li Shi Min and Fang Qiao were more interested in discussing the national strategy and were surprised by Li Su's sudden change in demeanor. They praised his design, but Li Shi Min also expressed concern that Li Su's values were focused on indulgence and recklessness. Li Su believed that enjoying life was important and that not doing so made one no better than a beast. The conversation ended with Li Shi Min offering Li Su a seventh-rank official position, but Li Su's response was ambiguous. After the meeting, Li Shi Min and Fang Qiao discussed Li Su's character and agreed that he was not an ordinary boy, with talent and strategy, but also a peculiar personality. They decided to be cautious in their dealings with him.Full content
