Summary

Uncle Wang reveals that Chen Xue, who supposedly died in a villa a year ago, isn't the Chen Xue known to the narrator. He investigates and discovers that the deceased Chen Xue had no sister, while the Chen Xue the narrator saw is indeed alive. This leads to confusion about who is haunting him. Uncle Wang suspects someone is trying to scare the narrator, possibly linked to past offenses. Eventually, they find a photo of a woman, Zhang Mei Qian, who had been murdered and is now the source of the haunting. The narrator realizes he is in danger from this vengeful spirit, complicating the mystery surrounding the two Chen Xues.
