Chapter 7: The First Call of Mother. [7]
Summary
Wang Rou Hua, living near the royal city, helped guards by mending clothes and received copper coins in return. Amidst a plague, she remained cautious, staying close to the city for protection. The plague, identified as enteritis, was less severe than feared. Wang Rou Hua took precautions, fumigating her home and using a mosquito net. Her son, Tie Xin Yuan, learned to walk, and together with a fox, explored their surroundings. They found mushrooms, which Tie Xin Yuan carefully stored. As autumn arrived, the plague waned, and Wang Rou Hua felt relieved. Tie Xin Yuan surprised her by speaking, calling her "mother," bringing her immense joy. She shared the news with the guards, celebrating her son's milestone.Full content
