Summary

As August approached, tensions rose in the Jin Kingdom as the Wolf Lord, Wan Yan Sheng, inspected Yanjing and prepared for an offensive against the Great Song Dynasty. Commanders Wan Yan Zong Han, Wan Yan Zong Wang, and Wan Yan Zha Mu hurried back to the city after a failed nine-day assault on Taiyuan, which left them uncertain about the siege's outcome and food supplies. Upon arriving in Yanjing, Wan Yan Zong Han reported to Wan Yan Sheng during a military council, where strategic goals were set for the upcoming attack.
