Summary

Two days after a court meeting, Li Yan Qing receives an urgent appointment as the Defense Commander of Hedong Road, while still retaining his position as Deputy of Jingzhao. In the military camp, he discusses defense strategies with officers Liu Fang and Cao Xing, deciding to leave the defenses of Jingzhao in Cao Xing's capable hands. Li Yan Qing feels uneasy about leaving his family in Jingzhao and arranges for them, along with other generals' families, to retreat south to Shu for safety. He entrusts the escort of the families to Zhang Ying and instructs Hu Qing Er to lead a contingent of female soldiers for protection. Before departing, Li Yan Qing spends time with his children and reassures his wives. That night, he gathers 40,000 troops for the march to Taiyuan, receiving guidance from the newly appointed Grand General Zhong Shi Dao on military strategy. Li Yan Qing is encouraged to be bold in his defense plans and prepares to lead his troops towards Hedong Road.
