Summary

In a dimly lit room, Fei Tu Youxing, after putting his daughters to sleep, senses danger when a beacon fire is lit. He rushes outside, despite his wife's concerns. At the shrine, Masuda Yumi warns Pei Zi Yun to escape as the City Lord's men approach. Tensions rise when villagers confront Pei Zi Yun, accusing Yumi of betrayal. A violent clash ensues, but Yumi pleads for mercy, leading Pei Zi Yun to spare the villagers. As they leave, they discuss the threat of "hopping vampires" and the City Lord's castle, Okayama Castle, which is a safe haven but increasingly desolate. Yumi suspects Pei Zi Yun has ties to the castle, hinting at deeper connections.
