Chapter 664: On the Walls of Xianyang City, a Scholar!. [664]
Summary
Qin Di was furious upon realizing he had been tricked into using the Imperial Jade Seal's power to save Zhang Yi. The Meng Yuan Di Guo army, led by the prince of Tuyugou, was approaching Xianyang with 300,000 iron cavalry and hundreds of red cannons. Qin Di, feeling responsible for Da Qin's downfall, rallied his people to fight alongside him. However, the situation seemed hopeless, and he ordered Du Yu to protect his daughter Nong Yu and flee. Du Yu, instead, leaped out to challenge the enemy alone, riding a divine steed. He declared he would use his poetry to repel the enemy, specifically the "White Horse Poem." Nong Yu admired Du Yu's poetry, but others, including Zhong Hang Le and Xu Lie Wu, believed Du Yu's actions were reckless and futile against the powerful Meng Yuan army. The prince of Tuyugou sneered at Qin Di, claiming he had wanted to ally with him to take down the Tang, but Qin Di had instead allied with Tang against him. Qin Di regained his composure and ordered his people to flee, but Du Yu remained, determined to use his poetry to achieve victory. The outcome was uncertain, with many doubting Du Yu's ability to defeat the enemy with his poetry. Nevertheless, Du Yu stood proudly, ready to face the enemy alone.Full content
