Summary
Zhang Ru Bin wakes up to find a Huya knife at his neck, held by Su Dingfang, who spares him for the commander’s sake. After the Sui army annihilates five thousand Tang troops, Zhang Ru Bin is interrogated by Prince Qi, Zhang Xuan, about Li Shu Liang's army. Meanwhile, Li Shu Liang's camp is set up cautiously, but they are ambushed by Sui cavalry led by Pei Xingyan. Despite efforts to defend, the Tang soldiers are overwhelmed, and Li Shu Liang is ultimately killed by Pei Xingyan, who acts out of anger. With their commander dead, the Tang army surrenders. Zhang Xuan decides to send Li Shu Liang's body back to Chang'an in an ice coffin to intimidate the enemy, while preparing for further military actions.Full content
