Chapter 66: The Fun of Swordsmanship: A First Taste of Brilliance. [65]
Summary
Sawayama Haruno visits a kendo practice to try swinging a bamboo sword for fun rather than seeking serious instruction. Though he recognizes his skills are far below those of Ezaki Naoha, he is intrigued to test his enhanced physical abilities. As he engages Naoha, he quickly gets into his zone, showing a surprising understanding of sword stances, particularly the High Guard, which he mimicked from observing her. During their practice session, Haruno launches various aggressive attacks, surprising Naoha with his speed and strength. The intensity of their exchanges draws the attention of onlookers, including Mine Shiori, who feels both admiration and concern watching the vigorous duel unfold. As the combat continues, Naoha begins to feel overwhelmed by Haruno's relentless strikes. Eventually, during a clash, Haruno's raw power leads to her breaking Naoha's bamboo sword, disrupting Naoha's balance and causing her to topple into Haruno. The two fall to the ground as Mine Shiori rushes over to check on them. As the chapter ends, the outcome of their intense sparring remains uncertain, with Ezaki Naoha's expression hidden beneath her mask.Full content
