Summary

In a lively courtyard at Little Cang He, the notorious rebel Ning Yi is causing a stir in the kitchen while preparing dinner. Despite the era's norms, he insists on frying eggs himself, much to the amusement of his friends who have gathered to enjoy the food. Among them is Tang Shu Lie, the skilled cook and housekeeper, who feels overwhelmed by Ning Yi's presence. The atmosphere is filled with laughter as friends joke and tease each other, while discussions about their recent challenges, including the siege of Bianliang, unfold. Meanwhile, Yun Zhu, pregnant and managing books, teaches children about classical texts, gaining respect for her knowledge. Despite the camaraderie, underlying issues from their past actions, including regicide, loom over them, hinting at the significant problems they face ahead.
