Summary

In Chapter 654, Lu Ye's plans are disrupted when he learns that Immortal Yuan City is not entirely overrun by the insect race, and the City Lord likely still lives. He seeks to enter the Lord's Mansion for soul-cleansing water but must first assist the Slaughterer in clearing the area of insects. The Slaughterer, a powerful spirit, leads a team of Immortal Yuan Guards, who, despite their weakening state, engage in battles with the insect tribe while forming a bond with Lu Ye. Lu Ye discovers that the soul-washing pool contains soul mist, not water, complicating his plans. He offers the Slaughterer some of his own soul-cleansing water, surprising the Slaughterer with its existence.
