The Great Idle Person of the Zhenguan Era.
Chapter 65: The Young Hero. [66]
Summary
Li Shi Min, the intelligent and perceptive Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, was faced with a major threat from Xue Yan, the Khan of the Western Turks. Dong Yang presented a plan to Li Shi Min, known as the "Tui En Ling" or "Decree of Favor," which originated from Emperor Wu of Han. The plan was to divide the princes' sons and grant them the title of king, indirectly weakening their power. Li Shi Min was impressed with the plan and considered it a brilliant strategy to peacefully resolve the threat. He inquired about the origin of the plan and was told that it came from a young man named Li Su, who was only 15 years old. Li Shi Min was intrigued by Li Su and wanted to know more about him. Meanwhile, Li Su was unaware of the impact of his plan and was concerned that he would not receive any compensation for it. Li Shi Min decided to delay discussing the northern expedition against Xue Yan and instead considered implementing the "Decree of Favor" plan.Full content
