Summary

Mei Lun investigates the missing person case of Wa Li Ya, discovering her family became wealthy after her disappearance, raising suspicions of foul play. He also looks into a brewery owner's report of staff disappearances, which seems unrelated to the "Devouring Marsh." After meeting with Li Man, who offers connections to Transcendents, Mei Lun focuses on Yi Si Li, who had gone missing. Upon visiting Yi Si Li's home, he finds signs of a struggle and traces of blood leading to the bathroom, suggesting a crime had occurred. Mei Lun deduces that Yi Si Li likely killed his wife and fled. Following a lead, he goes to a cemetery where he encounters Yi Si Li, now a grotesque figure. A gravekeeper reveals he can control Yi Si Li due to a mysterious black beetle, which Mei Lun captures. In the gravekeeper's hut, Mei Lun discovers a diary detailing the gravekeeper's twisted obsession with controlling corpses through the beetle, revealing his madness and depravity.
