Summary

Zhang Xuan and his companions encounter a group of young Hu people from the Tiele tribe, specifically the Bayegu clan. They meet a girl named Xin Yu, who initially ignores Zhang but later shows her skills by hunting wild ducks. As they travel, they witness a battle between Turkic soldiers and a smaller group, prompting Xin Yu and her brother, Bayegu Tongtai, to join the fight. Zhang Xuan realizes the Turkic army is led by Shushuhuxi, a Sogdian merchant, who is searching for missing armor linked to the Bayegu clan. In the ensuing chaos, Zhang Xuan and his companions charge into battle, with Wei Chi Gong and Cheng Yaojin displaying their combat prowess. Zhang Xuan pursues Shushuhuxi but ultimately halts when the Turkic cavalry retreats. Later, they are welcomed by Chief Tulu, who expresses gratitude for their help, and a festive atmosphere ensues with food and wine. Tulu's daughters serve the guests, and Zhang Xuan notices Xin Yu, who remains distant despite the celebration.
