Summary

In the house by the Xima Bridge, Old Ma anxiously sat beside the unconscious White Lotus, who was adorned with a glowing chain. Despite the calm surroundings, he felt a surge of tension due to the significance of a branch from the Divine Tree. After hesitating, he touched the branch, feeling a cool chill, and decided to grasp the chain around White Lotus's neck. Just as he was about to act, A Tu, the black dog, barked, startling Old Ma and causing him to nearly fall onto White Lotus. After regaining his composure, Old Ma requested the chain from A Tu, who complied. He then forcefully broke the chain and removed the necklace from White Lotus. Meanwhile, Lu Chen arrived, relieved to find them there. He inquired about White Lotus's condition, and Old Ma, still in shock, expressed his confusion about repayment for saving her. Lu Chen encouraged him to think of something, while Old Ma remained contemplative as Lu Chen entered the bedroom to check on White Lotus.
