Summary

Li Yi, intrigued by a mention of "one hundred taels," learns about a poetry competition at the Zui Xiang Lou, where the prize is the money he desperately needs. Although initially uninterested, he decides to enter after discovering that an invitation is required, but he can gain entry by solving lantern riddles. Despite the difficulty of the riddles, Li Yi uses his knowledge to successfully guess the answer to one, impressing the crowd. However, he faces a setback when informed he can only enter the venue alone, leaving his maid, Xiao Huan, behind.
