Summary

Xiao Gan received an urgent call for help from Jizhi City and abandoned Wanping City, leading his 20,000 cavalry to the capital. Upon arrival, he learned that the capital had fallen to the Song army and that the Empress Dowager had escaped towards Gubeikou. Xiao Gan was directed to meet her there. Meanwhile, Wan Yan Zong Bi, leading 30,000 Jin cavalry, attempted to seize Yanjing City but found it already occupied by the Song army. As Xiao Gan's forces retreated, they encountered Wan Yan Zong Bi's cavalry, leading to a disastrous battle where Xiao Gan's forces suffered heavy losses. The Song army celebrated their victory in Yanjing, while Li Da Qi received news of his son's achievements and was summoned by the emperor for a personal audience.
