Chapter 602: A Great Achievement Comparable to Li Jing [602]
Summary
Zhao Zhen and Wang Ning An were overjoyed with the news of victory from Chuan Fortress, as the spoils had already surpassed those of the Youzhou battle. The threat from Qing Tang was eliminated, allowing the Great Song to focus on dealing with Xixia. Zhao Zhen instructed Wang Shao to tally the battle achievements and arrange for rewards to commend the soldiers. Zhao Tiezhu's head was found, and he was posthumously promoted to Zhongshu Ling and appointed as the governor of Xizhou. Temples were built in his honor, and his family received preferential treatment. The people were deeply moved by Zhao Tiezhu's actions, and he was deified to protect the populace. Zhao Zhen summoned Wang Ning An to discuss the situation with Xixia. Wang Ning An reported that Xixia had been actively mobilizing its forces, but Mr. Jia was handling it adeptly. Zhao Zhen ordered Wang Ning Hong and Wang Ning Xuan to accompany the prince, leading ten thousand troops to march towards Qing Tang. Dong Zhan realized that the Dang Chuan Fort had been seized by the Song army and launched a fierce attack, but was repelled. Ye Li Yu Qi planned to allow Dong Zhan to escape if Dang Chuan Fort were breached. However, the Wang family army was faster, and Wang Ning Ze led a cavalry charge that defeated the Qing Tang soldiers. Dong Zhan was defeated, and with no chance to escape, he surrendered. The Song army had annihilated a hundred thousand enemies and captured their chief, a feat comparable to Sheng Tang Li Jing's.Full content
