Hunting Ghosts in the Mortal World.

Chapter 6: The Tragedy of a Gunshot. [6]

Summary

Uncle Li, fearful after encountering a female ghost, hesitated to guard his fish pond. Despite his worries, he learned the ghost was a woman who died in childbirth. Her spirit was vengeful, especially after Uncle Li's son shot at her while guarding the pond. This act enraged the ghost, leading to terrifying consequences. The son fled in panic, realizing too late the danger he provoked. His mother, believing his encounter, sought to appease the spirit with offerings. When the son began feeling unwell, they used chopstick divination to communicate with the ghost, a traditional method to negotiate with spirits, seeking to resolve the haunting.
