Summary

The conversation shifted to poetry meetings, contrasting the extravagant Pu Garden Poetry Meeting, hosted by the merchant Pu Family, with the more prestigious Zhi Shui Poetry Meeting, hosted by the scholarly Pan Family. Qin Lao encouraged Ning Yi to prepare poetry for the latter, but Ning Yi humbly declined, stating he was only going to enjoy the festivities at Pu Garden.
