Chapter 6: Poor Meng Yuan Zhi. [279]

Summary

Meng Yuan Zhi is deeply in love with Zhuo Ma, a woman of innocence and strength, who chose to go to Zi Chen Temple, a place akin to hell for women, rather than stay in the palace. Despite his affection, Meng Yuan Zhi cannot save her due to his familial obligations and the emperor's wrath. Tie Xin Yuan, aware of Zhuo Ma's true nature, refrains from enlightening Meng Yuan Zhi, who is trapped in love's web. Meng Yuan Zhi's mission is to ensure Tie Xin Yuan's survival and inheritance of Huo Sang's position, a task linked to a broader strategy involving Mu Xin and the Western Regions. The plan aims to leverage Yutian's remnants and Mu Xin's influence to counter Western Xia, a daunting challenge given Yutian's weakened state. Tie Xin Yuan is revealed to be a puppet in this scheme, promised wealth and glory as compensation. The revelation of a daughter between Meng Yuan Zhi and Zhuo Ma adds complexity, with Meng Yuan Zhi feeling manipulated by forces using his family to control him.
