Summary

In a village threatened by the Black Wind Bandits, Pei Zi Yun seeks help from Mister Zhao to protect his childhood friend, Ye Su Er, who is at risk of being given to the bandits. Mister Zhao advises Pei to take the imperial examination to gain influence and protect the village. He provides Pei with silver for travel and suggests Ye Su Er stay at a nearby Daoist temple, where a kind Nü Guan resides. Pei and Ye Su Er visit the temple, where they meet the Nü Guan, who agrees to help if Pei can solve a naming dilemma regarding the temple. Pei, inspired, confidently accepts the challenge, ready to prove himself and secure safety for Ye Su Er.
