Chapter 595: The Defeat of the Greeks. [609]

Summary

In a fierce battle, the Greeks face overwhelming pressure from the Trojans, leading to a retreat. Ajax, feeling fear, withdraws towards the ships, while Achilles remains indifferent, watching the chaos unfold. Despite pleas from fellow Greeks, Achilles refuses to fight, causing resentment among his comrades. Nestor rescues the injured Doctor Machaon, whose absence in battle could worsen Greek casualties. Patroclus, concerned for Achilles and the Greeks, learns of Machaon's injury and hopes it will stir Achilles to action. As the Trojans advance, Patroclus resolves to persuade Achilles again, fearing total defeat for the Greeks.
