Summary

Zhao Ji, fearing the Jin Kingdom's intentions to seize Yanjing, ordered a simultaneous attack on the Liao Kingdom for August 1st. Xin Xing Zong, a commander under Tong Guan's control, hesitated to act without consulting Tong Guan, who dismissed the idea of a symbolic troop movement to Yizhou. Tong Guan was focused on undermining Zhong Shi Dao's northern campaign, hoping to exploit any conflict between Li Yan Qing and Guo Yao Shi. Meanwhile, Yang Zai Xing led a cavalry unit towards Yongqing County, planning a surprise attack. As they approached, Yan Qing was tasked with using explosives to breach the city gates. After successfully detonating the charge and creating an opening, Yang Zai Xing commanded the cavalry to charge into the city.
