Summary

Zhan Xiang questions the church's reason for wanting to take Lou Yue Shuang, who is accused of colluding with witchcraft. Mo Wuji, aware of the church's intentions, prepares to protect Lou Yue Shuang. Yan Ke Ze intervenes, asserting his authority as a national protector, but Feng Lu insists on investigating Lou Yue Shuang's practices. Lou Yue Shuang defends her methods, claiming they are not related to witchcraft. Feng Lu's communicator interrupts, and he decides to keep Lou Yue Shuang at the academy for further investigation. After everyone leaves, Mo Wuji urges Lou Yue Shuang to escape with him to avoid the church's grasp. They decide to head to the Pan siblings' home, despite the risks involved, as hiding elsewhere would also lead to capture. Upon arriving at the Pan siblings' area, they discover a slum, contrasting with the previously perceived economic stability of the State of Liang.
