Summary

Yao Cheng Dong, nearing 50, struggles with the death of his elder brother, Yao Qing Zun, who urged him to resign from his job and return to the imperial capital to stabilize the Yao family amidst a crisis. After Yao Qing Zun's suicide, Yao Cheng Dong is devastated to find his father dead. Meanwhile, Tang Xiu of the rival Tang family learns of Yao Qing Zun's death and sees an opportunity, anticipating Yao Cheng Dong's return to power.
