The Earth's First Suzerain

Summary

Xia Tian returns to the suzerain's mansion after a successful trip to the Mystic Realm, but his joy is cut short by news of a giant creature, the Huang Jin Yi Long, attacking the quarry and devouring villagers. Upon arriving at the quarry, he observes the creature's impressive size and defenses, realizing it is much stronger than the previously encountered black-and-white dragon chicken. Despite the soldiers’ attempts to fend it off with supernatural crossbows, they prove ineffective. The Huang Jin Yi Long displays intelligence by using the corpses of its victims to taunt the attackers. Xia Tian witnesses the creature being injured by a powerful black feathered arrow, but it quickly retreats to the sky. As panic spreads among the villagers, Xia Tian realizes that he must act to protect them and maintain their faith in him. The Huang Jin Yi Long demands gold and sacrifices, prompting Xia Tian to consider using the gold from the quarry to lure it down. However, he recognizes that ordinary weapons won't suffice to defeat the creature and recalls that he hasn't forged any extraordinary weapons yet. The chapter ends with Xia Tian contemplating the potential for weapon creation with Shen Lian’s help.
