Chapter 57: The Girl Awakened from the Dream. [56]
Summary
In Chapter 82, Maki Miyazawa shares that she applied to a school abroad to improve her foreign language skills and explains that the program only requires video lessons, allowing her to stay in the country. Meanwhile, Mine Shiori is awakened by a phone call from Sawayama Haruno while recovering from a taxing night where she inflicted a "punishment" on herself to release pent-up emotions related to her studies and Haruno. After a brief, disoriented conversation with Haruno, Shiori realizes he is at her house to check on her, which causes her to panic due to her earlier activities. As she tidies herself, she reflects on the worries of reputational harm in their small country, amplifying Maki's concern over her educational choices and how they might be perceived. Sawayama comforts Maki about the rumors, promising to support her if any uncomfortable discussions arise, while Haruno grows concerned for Shiori's well-being but is initially unaware of the true reason behind her anxiety. The chapter highlights themes of friendship, the pressure of societal expectations, and the emotional struggles of the characters.Full content
