Summary

Ling Gu's mother, Shi Gu Lan, expresses gratitude to Mo Wuji for coming to assist her, despite his youth. Mo Wuji, acknowledging Ling Gu's help, requests to examine her condition privately, leading to some initial discomfort from Ao Song, who trusts Ling Gu but is wary of Mo Wuji. After setting up soundproofing barriers, Mo Wuji learns from Shi Gu Lan that she is suffering from an illness, not the Demonic God’s Poison as initially thought. She recounts how a renowned Immortal Doctor, Cheng Qian He, was summoned away before he could explain her condition. Mo Wuji checks her pulse and discovers she is indeed poisoned, with traces of Border Soul Grass in her body. He drinks tea brewed from the herb, which enhances divine soul energy, but finds no response from the dark incense wood present in the room.
