Summary

Shi Mu receives a reprieve from Law Protector Yue after passing the Phantom Beast trials. Upon returning home, he is greeted by friends and acquaintances celebrating his new status as a thousand-year disciple. As he prepares for his promotion, a massive nine-headed golden dragon appears, revealing Ao Zu, who seeks revenge on Shi Mu. Despite the crowd fleeing in fear, Cai Er chooses to stay and fight alongside him. In the ensuing battle, Shi Mu is overpowered by Ao Zu's strength, but he suspects Cai Er is not who she seems. He ultimately strikes her down, revealing her true nature as an illusion. Shi Mu then faces a series of illusions tied to his past memories on the Phantom Beast Path, testing his resolve. After overcoming these challenges, he finds himself at the brink of a final confrontation, facing a white light gate that has appeared before him.
