Summary

Kobayashi experiences a transition into a virtual world, where he is prompted to create a character resembling himself. Despite his initial reluctance, he experiments with various character appearances before settling on his original form for familiarity's sake. Upon entering the bustling fantasy-themed town, he realizes that the game environment is much more immersive than expected, with modern terms and concepts surfacing among the medieval setting. Kobayashi encounters other players, including a female player using a male avatar, and learns about the game's developer, Mao Chang Jing Yan, and its title, Sword Art Online. He quickly becomes concerned for his friends, Aqua and others, and rushes through the town to find them. Eventually, he discovers Aqua performing in a talent show, drawing a crowd, while the rest of his friends are also present but have remained in their usual appearances. Sato Kazuma surprises Kobayashi by appearing as a handsome character instead of a female one, leading to humorous exchanges about their character choices. Meanwhile, Mao Chang Jing Yan, the game's designer, is in a separate location adjusting the game and noticing anomalies with black accounts, hinting at deeper issues within the game's structure.
