Summary

In the thirteenth year of the Dà Yè era, turmoil arose as Yang Guang's authority weakened, leading to the rise of ambitious warlords. Among them, bandit Lu Ming Yue emerged as a significant power in Hebei after eliminating rivals and capturing key territories, declaring himself King of Wei. As he aimed to seize the Liyang Granary, he faced logistical challenges due to a lack of ships. His strategist, Yao Kai, proposed two solutions: acquire thousand-stone ships or fill the moat surrounding the granary. Lu Ming Yue opted for the latter, planning to use his large army to fill the moat and prepare for an assault. Meanwhile, the granary, heavily fortified and crucial for supplies, was defended by General Wang Bian, who sought reinforcements as Lu Ming Yue's forces began their operation under the cover of night.
