Chapter 547: Bestowed by Heaven to the Monarch. [550]

Summary

In a private meeting within Master Fang's territory, Grand Master Guang Ren is confronted by a decree official from Emperor Wu's court, demanding he kneel and accept an edict stripping him of his title due to alleged incompetence. The official's tone and the absence of formal titles bewilder the gathered cultivators. Despite the pressure, Guang Ren asserts that his title cannot be revoked by a mortal ruler and expresses intent to clarify matters with the Emperor himself. The situation escalates as the appointed successor, Liu Ao, orders soldiers to escort Guang Ren, but they hesitate, leading to confusion and frustration. Eventually, the decree official realizes the gravity of the situation and retracts the edict, allowing Guang Ren to prepare for his journey to the capital alone, while the others remain to protect the sect.
