Summary
The chapter describes a battle outside Chang'an City, where Ma Dai and Pang De, generals from the Xiliang army, are ambushed by a rain of arrows. Despite their efforts to defend themselves, they are struck by several arrows and rendered unconscious. On the city tower, Jia Xu, a trusted aide of Cao Zhang, orders the archers to continue firing at Ma Dai and Pang De, hoping to kill them and draw more Han troops to their rescue, which he can then slaughter.
