Summary

Du Yu, known as "Du the Top Candidate," has consistently excelled in examinations, achieving the title of Little Third Scholar. Despite his successes, he fears losing to Yang Xiong, the chief examiner appointed by the Dowager Empress, who plots to undermine Du Yu's reputation. The Empress Dowager believes in Wang Yi, who has been encouraged to adopt a male persona to challenge Du Yu. Yang Xiong, once a servant, has risen through hard work and now harbors disdain for Du Yu's rapid rise.
