Chapter 53: The Last Struggle (Part 2). [54]

Summary

He Luo Huo, the son of Tu Li Khan, was once the left guard of the emperor's side, but he assassinated the emperor and escaped to Guanzhong. He now seeks to kill the princess of the Tang Dynasty. Li Su, a peasant boy, has foiled his plans multiple times and wounded him severely. Li Su tells He Luo Huo that the elite Tang army has probably arrived nearby and will soon surround the area, giving He Luo Huo no hope of survival. He advises He Luo Huo to surrender to the emperor and swear not to rebel again, promising that the princess will vouch for him. However, He Luo Huo is stubborn and only agrees to surrender when the princess intervenes, offering to take Li Su's knife and ensure his safety. Just as it seems like a peaceful resolution has been reached, Li Su suddenly attacks He Luo Huo with the knife, striking him down with a single slash. He Luo Huo's abdomen is severely wounded, and he dies shortly after, his life force ebbing away with his blood and organs.
