Summary

Huang Weishan returns home to find his mother gravely ill. He discusses with his father the backgrounds of the two men he rescued, Cheng Dalei and Liu Facai. Old man Huang realizes Cheng Dalei's notorious reputation could be leveraged to gain favor with the king of Yanzhou. He persuades Huang Weishan to seek the king's army to capture Cheng Dalei and Liu Facai, viewing it as a chance to elevate their family's status. Huang Weishan leaves for Yanzhou City at dawn. Meanwhile, Cheng Dalei and Liu Facai wake up the next day, unaware of the danger they are in, and are treated to a feast by the Huang family, where old man Huang begins to suspect Liu Facai may be more significant than he appears.
