Summary

As night fell, Liang Qiu, the adopted son of Liang Shi Cheng, visited Cai Jing to deliver a letter from his father, assuring Cai Jing that they need only support Fan Zhi Xu, who opposed the northern expedition due to military unpreparedness. Meanwhile, Qin Gui, the chief clerk of the military inspection office, delivered a crucial military report to Cai Jing, detailing military supplies and bandit activity linked to Liang Fang Ping. Cai Jing expressed interest in the report and instructed Qin Gui to keep him updated on Fan Zhi Xu's movements. Li Yan Qing was busy strategizing against the northern expedition with Fan Zhi Xu and others, but was alarmed to hear that details of their classified report had leaked to the public. He and Fan Zhi Xu speculated on the source of the leak, suspecting palace involvement.
