Summary

In Gao Yang County, a Turko-Mongolian cavalry unit arrives at a crowded dock, attracting the attention of merchants and onlookers due to their fine horses. A merchant offers 500 taels of gold for a horse, but the leading Turko man, Tongtai, refuses, asserting their value. As they cross the river, they are intercepted by local cavalry who mistake them for spies. After revealing their identity and purpose—delivering breeding horses and alfalfa seeds to Zhang Xuan—Tongtai manages to convince the local officer, Dou Jiande, not to seize the horses despite their value. Dou Jiande allows them to pass, respecting their relationship. Two days later, Tongtai arrives in Qinghe County with the horses, where he reunites with Zhang Xuan, who had been expecting the delivery. The horses are examined, revealing they are solid-colored despite being dyed.
